Managing Marine Debris
Florida Sea Grant hosts a variety of marine debris programs, from microplastics awareness education and reporting to derelict vessel removal coordination. Extension agents host annual beach cleanups across the state, and lead or co-lead projects designed to prevent marine debris from by entering our waterways by encouraging businesses to reduce reliance on single-use plastics and trapping litter before it reaches coastal waters using interception technologies.
