We are studying Horse-shoe crabs in Collier and Lee County and we want your help! Come to a training event to learn how you can work with biologists in collecting vital scientific data about horseshoe crab populations and nesting behavior. Learn how to conduct surveys, collect scientific in-formation, and tag horse-shoe crabs for a nation-wide mark recapture study.

Florida Horseshoe Crab Watch is volunteer-based, citizen science project. The goals of the project are to establish Miami-Dade County's population based off of surveys performed during spawning season.

Dr. Sherry Larkin, Director of Florida Sea Grant, and Dr. Charles Sidman, Assoc. Dir. for Research, will be visiting FGCU to answer questions and to give a short seminar on Sea Grant research and student funding opportunities. This seminar will be held in the auditorium of The Water School (Rm 106).
