Florida Coral Reef Resilience Program Coordinator

About

Allison Holevoet is the Florida Coral Reef Resilience Program (FCRRP) Coordinator for Florida Sea Grant.

Allison earned a degree in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island, where she studied coral reefs in the British Virgin Islands and salt marshes in Rhode Island. She then worked in fisheries science in Alaska before spending a few years exploring the West Coast of the U.S. from 2020 to 2023. She completed her master’s at the University of the Virgin Islands, focusing on mangrove restoration, coral husbandry, and science communication. Before becoming the FCRRP Coordinator, Allison was Florida’s National Coral Reef Management Fellow, focusing on project management of state-funded research projects and assisting with document creation for state coral reef initiatives.

When she isn’t at work, Allison loves spending time outside adventuring, cooking, and taking dogs for walks.

Projects, Research & Specializations

The FCRRP is a statewide, collaborative public-private partnership focused on restoring Florida’s Coral Reef to a resilient, self-sustaining ecosystem. As the Coordinator, Allison works to coordinate and facilitate communications and action between the two leadership bodies, Executive Coordination Team and the Steering Committee, and members of ten different working groups.
