UF/IFAS Women’s Fishing Workshop

Join us to learn about Florida’s fish and recreational fishing!

This two-day workshop is geared towards women who would like to learn more about Florida’s saltwater and freshwater fishes and recreational fishing.

Thursday, November 2, 2023:

Location: UF/IFAS Extension Hernando County (16110 Aviation Loop Drive, Brooksville, FL 34604)

• 9:00am: Welcome and Introductions
• 9:30am: Fish 101
• 11:30am: Dissections
• 12:00pm: Lunch Break (Lunch not provided)
• 1:00pm: Knot tying
• 1:30pm: Fishing skills
• 2:00pm: Gyotaku
• 3:00pm: Dismiss

Friday, November 3, 2023:

Location: FWC Bass Conservation Center (3583 Co Rd 788, Webster, FL 33597)

• 9:00am: Tour of Bass Conservation Center
• 11:00am: Opportunity to fish the ponds at the facility. This will be freshwater fishing outdoors.
• 12:30pm: Dismiss

Note: Registration costs will cover workshop supplies and fishing equipment to participate in the activities. Transportation and food will not be provided. Pre-registration is required for this non-formal workshop.
