Develop content and products that engage diverse audiences and increase their knowledge of coastal and marine issues. Audiences include decision makers, resource managers, media, coastal residents, the scientific community and students.
Support and publicize Florida Sea Grant research, education, communications and extension programming, incorporating new media products and changing technologies as appropriate.
Rhett first worked with the Sea Grant network in 2010 as a graduate student assisting Oregon Sea Grant with communications projects. Since then, he has worked at National Geographic as an assistant researcher, North Carolina Sea Grant as a science writer, and Michigan Sea Grant as communications program leader. In 2019, he joined Florida Sea Grant as communications coordinator to work on coastal issues affecting his home state.
