Barriers and Enablers of Living Shorelines in Florida

Carlie Dario will present a thematic analysis of interviews with living shoreline practitioners and contractors in Florida. Applying Ostrom’s Institutional Analysis Development Framework, she will highlight environmental, social, and regulatory conditions that shape the planning and implementation of living shorelines in Florida. Carlie Dario is a PhD Candidate at the University of Miami. Her dissertation examines the values and perceptions of coastal nature-based solutions using interdisciplinary social science methods such as environmental economics and policy analysis.
