Responsibilities

Research—field data collection, data processing, and geographic information system (GIS) analysis—in a variety of projects, including the Regional Waterway Management System; characterization of boating activities and boater populations; and mapping federal, county, and municipal ordinances that affect boating. Creates maps, documents, and other products for recreational boaters in order to enhance enjoyment of the boating experience while fostering an attitude of stewardship for sensitive environments of the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. Recent examples are boater guides to the St. Augustine area and the Loxahatchee River/Jupiter Inlet vicinity. Coauthor of A Historical Geography of Southwest Florida Waterways, Volume 1: Anna Maria Sound to Lemon Bay and Volume 2: Placida Harbor to Marco Island.
