Responsibilities Serves as the director for communication program development and support. This includes the utilization of the latest technology and communication skills in expanding the dissemination of Sea Grant research, education and extension activities. Techniques used include commercial and public television broadcasts, audio-visual presentations, publications and print media contacts, posters, exhibits and this internet web site. The overall goal is to ensure that people who need science-based information have easy access to the information in a useful format. Specialties Mr. Kearl has worked in a wide variety of communications roles. He has experience in publishing as the editor of a regional life-style magazine and as a field editor and managing editor/production manager for a regional agricultural magazine. He has served as the overall coordinator for a number of academic international programs at both the University of Florida and Cornell University. Mr. Kearl also has provided communications skills to international programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America, and directed the communications unit of the International Potato Center in Peru.
