DEP Secretary Herschel Vinyard to Keynote Conference
From Stem to Stern II will bring together all sectors of Florida’s boating and waterway community.
Planners, resource managers, waterway users, marina operators, industry reps, harbor masters, city managers, elected officials, law enforcement, policy makers, researchers — here’s your opportunity to learn, discuss and network with your colleagues as we navigate boating and waterways management in Florida.
Florida’s economic well-being is linked to its freshwater, coastal and marine resources. We must balance the economic and environmental vitality of Florida’s waterfront communities – a challenge that is complicated by rapid population growth and an increase in water-related activity.
The first From Stem to Stern conference in 2006 served as a unique forum for boating and waterway stakeholders from around Florida, where they gathered and discussed issues facing their counties and regions. Attendees emphasized the importance of the conference in strengthening and developing networks among stakeholders, and highlighting effective efforts in managing waterway resources. From Stem to Stern II will continue this important effort.
