5. SEA-COOS Education Coordinator

SEA-COOS is a partnership of academic, federal, state and private institutions formed to build the framework of a coastal ocean observing system for the southeast Atlantic states. SEA-COOS is one of the regional systems ringing the United States to form the coastal component of the Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS). The Sea Grant Programs from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida have been given the responsibility to conduct a needs assessment of stakeholders and work with scientists in the development of ocean observation system products and services that meet these needs. Dr. Christina Simoniello will be involved in developing educational programs and materials connected with SEA-COOS, and working with Sea Grant Extension faculty in the delivery of these programs in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Her office will be located at the University of South Florida College of Marine Science campus in St. Petersburg. Her contact information:
