6. Meetings

  • National Conference on Coastal and Estuarine Habitat Restoration -- Restore America's Estuaries is pleased to announce a Student Poster Contest in conjunction with the meeting. The conference will be held September 12-14, 2004 in Seattle, Washington, and will bring together 800-1200 members of the restoration community, representing government agencies, businesses, tribes, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Posters are encouraged in six major themes: planning and priority-setting; best practices in restoration; science and technology; monitoring and evaluation; community involvement; and policy and funding.   • 2004 Florida Artificial Reef Summit -- Planning For the Future -- April 27-28, 2004, Mote Marine Laboratory, Sarasota, Florida. The focus of the 2004 Artificial Reef Summit is to facilitate implementation of a state Artificial Reef Operational Plan based on the recently completed Florida Artificial Reef Strategic Plan. The Summit will also provide a forum for members of the artificial reef community to get together on a regional basis to discuss common issues and potential regional projects.
